In representation of the woman, singer Ana Baiana dispells doubts whereas there was in Puerto Rico any other singer capable of performing “scats” with her virtuosity. She demonstrated it in "Long time, no see", "Todo de ti me importa" and "Looking for light", in which her knowledge of the jazz language and master of the brazilian "cadencia" was clearly evidenced.

“Looking for Light” by Ana Baiana: we point it out as one of the best productions of the year.

Ana Baiana: a swiss-o-rican with a world vision... title of article written by Marjorie Aponte, El Nuevo Día, Sept. 19, 1999

Great musical selection in this CD “Looking for Light” by pianist and vocalist Ana Baiana, well-known in our local musical night life. This excellent Swiss artist and pianist of group O’Brasil who has decided to live in Puerto Rico, performs with mastery songs like “Tambour toujours” and "Loiza" including bomba, chachacha, samba, salsa, ballad and latin jazz in this production. Good album, even though radio would not give her much attention, the public can. Tite Curet , Primera Hora , January 13, 2000

Ana Baiana's nine-track production “Looking for Light” ... a promissing buy for fans of latin rhythms fusion… the two bombas “Tambour toujours” and “Loiza” - sung in French - stand out. The experience of listening to bomba played with a touch of samba peppered with jazz-rock blended with the sound of coquis in French is just startling. Ian Malinow , The San Juan Star, June 21, 1999

"Looking for Light" represents without doubts, one of the most gratifying surprises of this year in the world of records. An exquisite musical journey to various rhythms. Bomba, latin jazz, samba, ballad, chachacha and salsa enriches “world music“, genre that Baiana has been cultivating long before the popularity and importance it has reached recently… Marjorie Aponte , El Nuevo Dia, Sept.19, 1999

In this CD, Ana Baiana projects much vocal creativity. She shows her knowledge of fusion music. We can perceive it in “Loiza” and “Tambour toujours“, which are progressive bombas. In these, the artist, in an audacious manner, integrates the balafon, cuica and the chequere…She places herself in the world music style and reconfirms herself as an "ahijada del tambor" (goddaughter of the drum).
Marie Ramos Rosado, Latin Beat , September 1999

As excellent was described the group Batacumbele from Puerto Rico… one must praise the rhythm and swing of Swiss born Ana Baiana, member of the portorican group. Rafael Salas , El Heraldo, Baranquilla, Colombia , March 23, 1987

“A night to remember is when Anne Guggenbuhl (Ana Baiana's real name), together with brazilian guitarist and composer Paulo Bellinati’s group Guaraná, ended the festivities with wild sambas and sophisticated brazilian jazz” Philippe Souaille, Tribune de Geneve, 1981
